South Lakes FBLA is a place to grow into leadership over time. You do not need experience, confidence, or a clear career plan before joining. The purpose of the chapter is to help students discover their strengths, try new things, and build confidence through real experiences.

Members take part in weekly activities where they help run events, organize fundraisers, and participate in workshops focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Instead of only learning about business, students practice it by working together, planning projects, and solving real problems.

Throughout the year, students will develop public speaking skills, manage projects, and participate in an entrepreneurship challenge where they create their own business idea for a global competition, along with stock market activities that teach decision making and responsibility.

Students who stay involved gain experience presenting ideas, meeting deadlines, and contributing to a team. Over time, many discover they are more capable than they expected and begin taking initiative with confidence.

South Lakes FBLA values effort, respect, and reliability. Members support each other, build friendships, and create a positive environment where students are encouraged to push themselves and grow.

If you are interested in joining, attend an upcoming meeting or speak with a current member or advisor for details on how to get involved.

What kind of student should join South Lakes FBLA?

You do not need business experience or leadership background to join. South Lakes FBLA is for students who want to grow, try new challenges, and figure out what they are capable of. Many members join unsure of their direction and discover interests, strengths, and confidence along the way.

What will we actually do during meetings?

Meetings are active and hands-on. Members help plan events, organize fundraisers, prepare workshops, and work toward chapter goals together. Some days focus on building skills like communication and teamwork, while others are working sessions where you help run real activities that impact the school.

What opportunities can I participate in?

Members can explore leadership roles, public speaking, entrepreneurship challenges, and stock market activities. Students may also compete in FBLA events and competitions while earning volunteer hours through service projects and chapter activities.

How much commitment is expected?

The chapter holds bi-weekly meetings and attendance is recorded. Members are encouraged to stay involved and contribute to projects, some of which continue outside meetings. The more effort you put in, the stronger the South Lakes FBLA community becomes.
